How to create the perfect Home office. Tips from storage unit companies

Working from home is one of the few things that we have gotten from the past decade which is genuinely a blessing. Gone are the days when blogging was considered a hobby. With YouTubers making 6 figure salaries by playing video games online and testing make up, working from home as an influencer is without a doubt among the most profitable types of professions of the new decade.

Working from home is amazing. It is taking up the challenge of being your boss and creating your work routine. It is not about having flexible hours as it is usually confused with. It is more about working 24/7 and ensuring that you are converting your time to money efficiently whilst holding the reins top all of it. And in your living room, if you don’t know better.

Home offices are becoming increasingly popular too due to this shift in how working from home is perceived. Creating a working space in our homes to maximize productivity as well as instill a sense of professionalism is a great way to set the tone for 2020. If you have been meaning to start a side hustle that you’d like to pursue full time in the future, creating a home office is the best way to not only get excited but also manifest your goals.

If you have a store at your place, consider moving that to a small storage unit. Renovate the place as a home office that suits all your work-needs.

Here are a few tips from storage unit companies that will help you set up your dream office.

Where?

Before setting up a home office you must look at whether they have a place for it? Working at home is associated with the peril of getting disturbed, getting distracted and worst of all getting too comfortable. It is very difficult to draw the line between home and work when you are working from home and this is something even the most productive people will face.
So, look around your house and try to determine which room is the best choice for a home office? Is it hidden away? Is it soundproof? Is it easy for your pet to enter and leave without distracting you? Before you decide where you must have all of this figured out.

If you have a store at your place, or a walk-in closet that is filled with clutter, consider moving all of that to a small storage unit. Renovate the place as a home office that suits all your work-needs.

Design

Your workspace if you design it right, will influence your overall productivity and success. This is great because the designing part is our favourite. Start by creating a Pinterest board which will inspire you and give you an idea of the kind of aesthetic you’d want your office to have.

You can then start designing according to your Pinterest board. Incorporate a desk, hide wires and tech-clutter as far as possible. Add some plants and natural light to liven up the space.

Organization

organization is important because your work-space will be exposed to a lot of your stressed Mondays and deadlines. So, keeping an organization system that is simple, sustainable and compatible with your brand of anxious is a good way to ensure that your office space stays functional. The last thing we want for your store room-turned home-office going right back to being used as a storeroom in within a hectic week.

This goes without saying but one way you can keep your office from becoming disorganized is using it just as an office. It is highly likely that you’ll be taking you tea and coffee in your office, so step it up and add a small kettle and a cup to the office space. Create your little coffee station. Having a designated space for it will keep the clutter at a minimum. Try to take your lunch outside where you’d normally eat lunch at home. Do not leave your purse and your makeup in the office (unless your work requires makeup and accessories). Lastly, at the end of your workday (as designated by you and you alone) clean up after yourself so that tomorrow you come back to a neat and clean office.
